Take Stroll Down Palafox Street

In every town, there is one street defining its character. On these streets, time may be spent learning about the town?s history through its architecture, memorials, interesting shops, classy restaurants, local bars and art galleries. The heartbeat of the town is on these streets.

In Pensacola, Palafox street is that street. It invites you to walk from one end to the other. Starting at the top of the hill, from the Cervantes and Palafox intersection, the street takes you from our Confederate Memorial all the way down to the beautiful waterfront. Historical buildings may be seen on both sides along with the old post office and movie theater.

Further down the street, the architecture becomes “New Orleans style” with wrought iron balconies and lamppost- lined sidewalks. Browse the shops for local art and souvenirs, and have lunch at a local restaurant. Complete your stroll to where the street ends at Plaza de Luna Park on the waterfront of Pensacola bay. Relax on one of the park benches by the fountain, and plan your walk on the way back up the other side of the street.
